I know we're in the middle of a heatwave and all we can think about is festival fashion and getting a tan, but the fact is, it's time to start planning for Autumn. I don't want to wish time away, but these things need to be prepared. They say the best time to buy a coat is in the Summer as they're usually cheaper, you're not caught up in "well so and so has this in grey so I'll have to get it in black" nonsense and by the time it comes to actually needing one, they'll have sold out in your size.

I have several coats; a fluffy cream and black minkpink one, a grey tweed primark one, a black il2l parka and a long grey boucle one I stole from my mum. One thing that my wardrobe has always been missing, is a mac. Or a trench, whatever you prefer. I'm sure there is a slight difference, so I'll refer to this as a mac. As you may know, I don't tend to wear a lot of brown tones, but something about this shade, on the website it's listed as cumin, bodes well in my collection. It looks great with monochrome, therefore at least 80% of my wardrobe, and the slight tangerine details (including the lining of the detachable hood - bonus points for Manchester's dreary weather!) means it will go well with colour too. It does come in other colours, FYI.

So now I'm sorted in the coats department for AW14, and if you want to start planning a season ahead, check out the great plains website, this amazing mac is even in the sale! I was so impressed with the quality and the fit, for reference I'm a UK 10 and ordered a medium for wearing over jumpers etc, I'm tempted to add even more to my collection!

Good vibes guys
