I've been saying I'll do it for years, and never quite got round to it, but after four years helping my mum run her etsy The Hippy Rose (she makes sustainable crochet bags btw), I thought it was about time I start my own. Friday 25th September saw the birth of Allie Josie Studio - my very own etsy shop.

Right at the beginning of 2020 - a simpler time - I added punch needling to my long, long list of creative hobbies, and what do you know, this one actually stuck. Punch needle is essentially embroidering with yarn, except you stab the fabric over and over instead of bringing the needle through the back and then through the front like you would with traditional embroidery. You can do pretty much anything with it, from rugs, coasters, wall art, clothes and cushions, but for now I'm starting out with wall art, cushions and coasters...and hand drawn prints. It fits in pretty well with my interiors obsession, right?

I've been illustrating for a good few years now, since my last year of university, and have had some freelance gigs, but I lost the passion for it some time in 2019. I'm not sure why. But I did really miss it and wanted to incorporate it into something else that I wouldn't get bored of. Enter Allie Josie Studio! I have a few hand drawn prints as well as punch needle pieces - digital ones coming soon once I save up for an iPad! - and I've designed all of my handmade home accessories myself, all with a groovy 70s vibe to fit in any home; rented or owned, all out retro or just a tad.

I'm not going to bang on about it too much here, because let's face it, the proof is in the pudding, or should I say the punch? So, if you fancy seeing what I've been spending the past 6 months creating, head on over to Allie Josie Studio on etsy, or scroll through @AllieJosieStudio on Instagram. And if you're not that interested, I'll see you soon for another blog post!

Good vibes guys ✌🏼
