Liverpool style blogger wearing topshop chunky trainers, blue crop flare jeans, black and white stripe t shirt, tortoiseshell sunglasses and black circle cross body bag with studs

Last weekend was the best weekend I've had in ages. Liverpool was feeling the heat, and I had the whole weekend to spend with my absolute bestie. As you read this, I'll have just landed in Shanghai, so we tried to spend loads of time together before I jetted off for a few weeks. Of course, a sunny Saturday afternoon in Liverpool calls out for a trip to the docks and the pier head, which is where these pretty pictures were taken. This is my favourite place to spend a sunny day, in the whole wide world, there's nowhere like it for me. And for this lovely day walking around town, I decided to debut my new "ugly trainers" from Topshop.

Beth hates these shoes. I love them. I call them my marmite shoes, because whilst I can totally see that they might not be the prettiest shoes, they're chunky and a little 90s throwback, which I just couldn't resist. The ugly trainers trend has been on the high street for a while now, and it shows no sign of slowing down. Whilst Balenciaga are nailing the dad sneaker trend, high street stores like Topshop and Public Desire are bringing out some amazing dupes, and at less than £40 we're more likely to give them a try.

I deliberated over this particular pair for ages, but bit the bullet when I knew I'd need another pair of comfy shoes for my trip to Shanghai that aren't my old skool vans, because let's face it, I wear them ~all~ the time. Granted, they take a little wearing in (mind you, I did size down), but once they're settled I think they're a great pair of shoes, as ugly as they may be.

One thing that is beautiful though, is this city. Just look at it. The three graces basking in the sunshine. After this little stroll, we grabbed a lovely curry on Bold Street before heading home and doing it all again the next day. On Sunday, we made our way to Baltic Market for pizza, ice cream burritos and gin and tonic sorbet. Yep, best place ever. Then it was time for Ghetto Golf - a place I'd strangely never been to, but it was worth the wait, even if I am horrendously bad at mini golf... I'm still not sure on how I want to share each and every inch of Liverpool on the blog, but if you're interested you can see where I've been lately on my Liverpool highlight on Instagram

How about that for an old school outfit diary style post eh? Let me know what side you stand on when it comes to the ugly trainers debate, and if you'd like me to talk more about Liverpool on the blog!

Good vibes guys ✌🏼
