New Years outfit with toyshop black and gold star print velvet flared trousers

It's the most wonderful time of the year... No, not Christmas Day, but that weird little space in time between Christmas and new year. It's time for wearing and using all your new presents, stuffing your face with chocolates and getting your party on. I'm not a huge "going out person" as I've said on this blog before, but when it comes to December, I'm all for pulling on the star print flares and cracking open the gin. On the 24th December 2017, it was the first Christmas Eve I'd gone out instead of staying in and I bloody loved it. I chose to wear these Topshop star print flares especially for the occasion and now I can't take them off. I'm even considering wearing them again for NYE... What do you think?

These pants are totally like marmite. You'll either love them or hate them, and I honestly don't mind which. When they first arrived, I posted my first poll on my Instagram as to whether to keep or return, because I couldn't decide if they looked a little too much like pyjama bottoms. Something like 98% of you said to keep them, and here we are, rocking them with my trusty off the shoulder top (which I seemingly wear every time I venture out for a drink) and some old heeled boots. Chances are, you've seen these flares a few times already on a few fashion bloggers' Instagrams, styled in loads of different ways. Zoe London styled hers with gold and Monika Young styled hers with shaggy knits and bakerboy hats. Expect to see some similar looks on my Instagram pretty soon, because these star print flares are just too good to be kept in the wardrobe for night time!

Speaking of things too good to only wear a few times, have you seen my new set of stacking rings* from Happiness Boutique? I shared a snap of these a while back when they first arrived, and despite barely taking them off, I'm only just getting round to sharing them on the blog now. If you have sausage fingers like me (I'll never be hand model, will I?) I have found the ring set for you. If these babies fit me, they'll fit anyone. I love their golden colour and range of minimalist designs, and the fact that I've been wearing them for weeks and there's still not one green mark to be found. I also got a pair of earrings from Happiness Boutique, too, so expect to see them soon!

Special shout out to my gorgeous friend Alex from The Lipstick Lady for inspiring this makeup look! I copied an Instagram tutorial of hers for Christmas Eve but stupidly forgot to take a photo. This is me reenacting the look for some photos, but you definitely can't tell.. so make sure to go follow her for more NYE makeup ideas because she does it so much better than me!

Good vibes guys ✌🏼
