aw17 red and black outfit from liverpool fashion blogger

If you've visited my blog before, you should already know that my favourite colour is red. I love red, not only is it associated with Liverpool so of course holds a special place in my heart, but it's the key to my confidence, as I shared in my post 'finding my favourite colours to wear'. That's why I was overjoyed when I noticed red was fast becoming the colour of AW17 before it has even started. On 1st August, I went for a wander around the shops, and despite still being in need of a pair of sandals, the autumn stock had hit, with boots and jumpers taking over. I love autumn / winter dressing at the best of times, but this year I'm even more excited, as red seems to be the colour of the season. I remember stepping into Primark and seeing a sea of red and black, with tartan, faux fur and wool covering the mannequins despite the fairly decent weather outside. I let out a bit of a squeal, okay?

Red is such a bold colour, but I honestly wouldn't associate it with one season more than the other. Burgundy and forest green are autumn / winter colours, rarely seen in summer, whilst white and pale blue are predominantly worn in the spring and summer months. Whereas red doesn't really have a set place. When paired with black though, it not only screams Bitchin' Blonde's wardrobe, but the best time of year, autumn / winter.

You might know, I've shot a lot of these pictures and scheduled a lot of these posts to go up whilst I'm travelling America (check my Instagram to see what I'm up to!) which means this outfit was actually shot in August, making this the perfect example of transitioning from summer to autumn. Of course this denim skirt wouldn't really be an autumn / winter staple, unless you wanted to freeze, but the faux suede jacket and snake print boots? Hell yeah. These have definitely been two of my wardrobe favourites over the past few months, and this shows no sign of changing throughout the seasons. Swap this red t-shirt and skirt for a jumper and some black jeans and I'm ready to go.
