Bill's summer of music in Liverpool one

Have you noticed I'm really into my food right now? In the past few weeks, I've reviewed the new menu at the Baltic Social and had an impromptu photoshoot in Chango's Burritos, plus vlogged my trip to Liverpool's new Baltic Market. And today, there's another foodie blog post for you all to try. As you might have seen from a few other bloggers, over the past month or so, Bill's restaurants are having a summer of music, with live gigs happening in some of their restaurants around the UK. When an email arrived in my inbox asking if I'd like to head down to their Liverpool One branch this week, I jumped right on it. Food, music, drinks and friends..what more do you want?

As we headed into Bill's in Liverpool One, just over the road from the gorgeous Albert Dock, we mooched over the new cocktail menu whilst singer songwriter Gizmo Varillas started his gig as part of Bill's summer of music. His music was perfect to relax to, helping set the vibe for a perfect summers evening. I decided on the raspberry and rosehip cocktail whilst Beth went for an elderflower concoction, which we sipped on whilst taking ages to decide what to order from Bill's new summer menu. The menu is filled with seasonal dishes, and there were a few veggie options too. I did spy mac'n'cheese, which you all know is a favourite of mine, but it had mushrooms, which ruin any good dish. Don't @ me. Instead, I opted for the chickpea, aubergine and lentil dahl whilst Beth went for steak, egg and chips, but not before we obsessed over their tortillas with guac and salsa, which were literally the best we've ever had. I'd head back for three rounds of these alone. There's something for pretty much everyone on the menu, and no matter what your music taste, you'll enjoy the entertainment on offer, too.

What I've always been a fan of at Bill's is their decor. It's an Instagrammer's dream and I wanted to take all of it home with me. The service we had was also an absolute dream, shout out to Francesca at Bill's Liverpool One, who had us laughing all night. She was so fab I even told the manager how much she made our evening. For me, the atmosphere in a restaurant is just as important as the food to judge if I'll be heading back, and once I'm back from my travels, Bill's will be one of the first places I head to.

malaika music at bill's summer of music

As we filled ourselves (literally, SO full) with dessert, jazz singer Malaika took to the stage, who had such a beautiful voice we didn't want to leave. Another chilled vibe, but even covering pop songs which had the whole place singing along, which was adorable. I'll definitely be following these two on Spotify after seeing them as part of Bill's summer of music. If you live near Lewes, where Bill's actually started as a greengrocers and a cafe in 2000, make sure to book a table for the final summer of music event on 24th August. You can head on over to the Bill's summer of music site to find out who's on and how to book a table. If you can't make it, make sure to check out their summer of music playlist on Spotify so you're not missing out.

Have you been anywhere you've loved lately? I'm especially looking for restaurant recommendations in DC, New York, Chicago, Vegas, San Diego, LA and San Francisco, so if you have any let me know in the comments!

Good vibes guys ✌🏼
