NEW YEAR'S EVE

new years eve makeup look

Happy new year! I hope you all had a great night last night, whether you were out partying or staying in with a pizza. I know a lot of people dislike NYE, saying it's always a let down, but it is what you make it. I don't go out much, but I always make sure I'm doing something fun on new year's eve, it's good to start the year with friends I think.

And of course, it's good to start the new year not only having fun and being with people you love, but wearing something you love too. In the run up to Christmas, whilst Christmas shopping literally every single night (the bad side of living in the city centre I guess), I was on the hunt for the perfect party dress. I have a lot of clothes, don't get me wrong, but they're all super casual. Normally when I go out for drinks I wear what I would wear on a day to day basis but with darker eyes and the lack of a jacket or coat. In fact, when these pictures were taken it was just 4 degrees outside and there was frost on the ground. #CommitmentToTheGram

I eventually found this dress in the dregs of the River Island sale, down to just £15 from £32! After trying on a beautiful star print dress that I thought was a slip but turned out to be a bodycon, I was wary, but River Island pulled through. Funnily enough, when browsing ASOS later that evening (for presents, honest), I found the same dress still full price. It just goes to show, always check more than one retailer if you've found something you love, you could save yourself quite a bit of money!

This bag was also another find I stumbled across whilst supposed to be shopping for others. My best friend Beth got it for me as a present, but I couldn't get my hands on it until Christmas eve - torture! It was actually inspired by Abigail from Blush & Noise because she rocked her metallic bag so well. Thanks for the inspo girl! And, yep, another Christmas present. How cute is this choker? It had been in my ASOS saved list for months, and after a helpful hint Father Christmas left it under my tree Christmas morning, lucky me.
