As I said in my latest outfit post, you know, the one where I obsessed over my Missguided eyelet detail hoodie, my style feels a bit all over the place lately. The past week or so, I've been all about my snakeskin boots, but I've loved them so much over the past six months or so they're now falling to pieces. Just like my heart. Sob. On Friday, I was faced with the question "what the hell do you wear to a gig?". I've been so into my boots and good old Topshop coat lately I was a bit stumped. Not to mention because it was the first 'real' day of spring where it actually felt warm enough to leave the flat in a jacket as opposed to a coat. Spring always makes me panic, "I'm not ready for bare legs and light jackets!" I cry, as I clutch onto my thick jumpers and beloved jeans. But when faced with a sweaty crowd and standing for hours, you know things have got to change.
There's loads of gig outfit ideas out there, and it usually depends on who you're going to see, where you'll be, etc. I'll never forget the girl who rocked up to see blink-182 (standing, by the way) in hoop earrings and stilettos. Not only did the heels make me wince just imagining her pain, but the potential disasters those hoop earrings posed didn't bear thinking about. Flats all the way, and comfy ones at that. Nothing too warm, nothing too cold (I did have to walk home, after all).
For going to see Circa Waves at their Liverpool gig on Friday, I opted for my favourite culottes (which you will have seen a few times on the blog last summer) and this t-shirt from Urban Outfitters. I had my eye on this way back last autumn but did not have £26 to spend on one, luckily it found its way into my Christmas stocking and I've been waiting for spring ever since so I could get a chance to wear it. I did feel a bit plain though, so added this new western cowboy inspired belt to jazz things up a little (just £4 in Primark by the way!) and my new leather jacket.
I feel like it's been forever since I've rocked a leather jacket. I know I wore one in my 2017 plans post, but truth is it was Beth's and I was just borrowing it. This baby on the other hand, I ordered when ASOS had their 20% student discount. Originally, I was unsure, but after seeing it in the Warehouse store I was convinced. Next thing you know I'm picking it up and throwing it on with my sunglasses at the first sign of sunshine.

So next time you're wondering what to wear to a concert, don't forget, comfort is key. Flat shoes, something relatively flowy, but with a little bit of something to jazz it up. Have fun!
Good vibes guys ✌
